is a leading developer, manufacturer and distributor of innovative products
and programs that serve the global sleep and respiratory markets. Contracted to design and develop automated test systems using LabVIEW to
characterize electro-mechanical components used in the respiratory product
line. §
Offshore
Model Basin is the largest commercial facility of its kind in the United
States, testing sea going vessels of all types including: offshore oil rigs,
ships, submarines and America’s Cup racing yachts. Contracted as a consultant to evaluate and
upgrade OMB’s instrumentation and data acquisition capabilities. §
Data Translation, Inc. is a world leader in
Data Acquisition, Image Analysis, and Machine Vision hardware and software
products. Contracted to review and evaluate Data
Translation Measure Foundry (DTMF) v4.x software package. Drafted an engineering design document used
to create DTMF v5.x. Also served as an
Alpha Tester for new products. 2000 - 2003 Applied Micro Circuits Corporation Principal Test Engineer, Lab Automation AMCC designs,
develops, manufactures and markets high-performance, high bandwidth silicon
connectivity for the world's communications infrastructure. Created ATE systems
using LabVIEW to control state of the art rack-and-stack GPIB test equipment.
Architected a custom test executive program with extensive libraries to
characterize the performance of high-speed, mixed signal integrated circuits.
Utilized carefully designed techniques to enhance the
scalability and reuse of code. Improved
measurement quality, consistency and repeatability for DOE analysis. Significantly reduced development time and
test time, freeing up resources and reducing time to market. Supervised several lab technicians and
mentored product engineers. 1999 N/S Microwave Spring
Valley, CA Project Manager / Senior Software Engineer NS Microwave
specializes in integrated microwave surveillance/broadcast camera systems
including the microwave components, positioners, enclosures, remote DTMF or
software control, joysticks, custom mounts, and camera equipment.
Managed the time and resources of multiple projects
placed in my charge. Oversaw projects from concept, through design,
manufacture and delivery. Directed the
activities of several mechanical, electrical and software engineers. Interfaced directly with vendors, test
technicians and production personnel.
Developed PIC assembly language firmware for controlling camera and
antenna positioning equipment used in broadcast TV, military and covert
monitoring applications. 1998 – 1999 Solutions InVIEW Consultant, Senior Software Engineer Solutions InVIEW is a contract services company
specializing in custom hardware/software solutions. Projects include: §
Solar Turbines is a world leader in
designing, manufacturing and supporting gas turbine power system solutions
for the oil/gas power generation industries.
Created an automated
calibration system for VXI based instrumentation using LabVIEW. The instrumentation is used for monitoring
the performance of gas turbine compressors at Solar Turbines in San Diego. § Scientific
Marine Services, Inc. (SMS) provides specialized technical consulting
services and custom engineered products to the marine and offshore industries
applying advanced methods and technologies. Contracted for support
services by SMS in Escondido (which acquired Sparta Marine Instrumentation)
to commission two Single Point Mooring monitoring systems in
Argentina and commission the Tendon Tension/Load Monitoring System used
aboard the Morpeth SeaStar (an offshore oil rig) in the Gulf of Mexico. 1995 – 1998 Sparta Marine Instrumentation Senior Software Engineer /Field Engineer SMI specialized in integrated monitoring and control
systems for marine terminals and offshore oil industries. Architected custom applications using LabVIEW to monitor
and control various aspects of marine terminals, ships and offshore oil
rigs. Developed PC/104 embedded
systems software in C. As primary
field engineer, installed, troubleshot and commissioned systems. Supervised four contract software engineers
and several technicians. Projects
include: § Weight and C.G. system
for Boeing, used by NASA for the space shuttle and Int’l Space Station § Data acquisition system for
